En Plein Air Workshop with Jim Perkins
Come paint outside with artist Jim Perkins. Jim will help students find spots with visual interest and once you get set up he will give you tips and tricks to make your painting a success…
In this workshop Jim will help you work in acrylic or oil paints and show you some of his tips and tricks to make your landscape painting come to life.
$50 for members and $70 for non-members
WORKSHOP & PLEIN AIR SUPPLY LISTS
When painting outdoors (en plein air), these are the supplies to take with you. However, feel free to use what you are accustomed to.
Please dress accordingly!!
-Canvas/panel/paper for paint on. Recommended size: aprox 8×10″ to 12×16″. Gessoed panels are great for oils.
Paints. (Iim will be working and demonstrating in oils. You’re welcome to work in your favorite medium of choice.)
-Palette: wood with a nice patina or plexiglas.
-Painting medium: optional. A variety exist to improve the flow of your paints.
-Solvent to clean brushes (oil: odorless mineral spirits; watercolor/acrylic: water.)
-Brushes: The better quality brush, the better the painting.
-Small trash bag for soiled towel
-Folding chair (if needed)
-Snack, bottled water
-Sense of humor!
