2025 exhibition at Studio 23/The Arts Center
This exhibit will support the goal of our mission statement to make art relevant and accessible to all by
- Creating artwork for an audience who may be overlooked in the visual and fine arts community due to limited sensory or physical abilities.
- Highlighting artwork created by individuals with limited sensory or physical abilities.
- Enlightening our audience to the limitations of creating or enjoying art while living with disabilities.
Our vision is a collaborative exhibition featuring tactile, touchable artwork highlighting sensory experiences beyond vision alone. Our goal is to create inclusion for an audience who may be overlooked in the visual and fine arts community due to limited sensory or physical abilities. We welcome ideas that utilize new ways of creating, displaying, thinking about, and interacting with artwork in a gallery setting.
Studio 23 will be working with a team of individuals from our region who are experienced in accessibility and inclusion practices to ensure this exhibit is sensitive to the needs of a broad range of individuals. Steps taken to ensure accessibility will include large print and braille labels, wheelchair accessible arrangement of the gallery, and sensory hours with dimmed lighting and quiet atmosphere, among other considerations.
