Artist Talk by Chris Krupinski, juror of the 72nd Michigan Water Color Society Juried Exhibition

Please join us for an artist talk by watercolorist Chris Krupinski on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from Noon – 4:00 pm. Chris is the juror for the 72nd Michigan Water Color Exhibition and will be presenting the awards during the public reception starting immediately after her talk.

Art is a key element in Chris Krupinski’s life. She has been drawing and painting all of her life, but discovered watercolors in the mid-1980s and has had a passion for the medium ever since. The training she received pursuing art education and graphic design degrees honed her technical abilities. But, more importantly, it is the discipline of painting everyday that has led to her success.

Chris is a Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor Society, signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Rocky Mountain Watercolor Society, TWSA (Master Status), Watercolor West-Master, and Allied Artists, to name a few. Chris earned the rst Platinum Member status in the Alabama Watercolor Society. She is the recipient of over 200 national and regional awards including the top award in the 2013, 2015, and 2018 Adiron- dacks Exhibition of American Watercolors, first in Watercolor West 2016, first in Alabama Watercolor Society 2018 and a medallion award winner in the 2013 and 2015 American Watercolor Society Exhibition. Chris was featured on both the cover and a feature article in the October 2014 issue of The Artists Magazine. Opening Reception for the 72nd Michigan Water Color Society Juried Exhibition

You are invited to the opening reception of the 72nd Michigan Water Color Society Juried Exhibition 2019, June 8, 2019, 1:00pm – 4:00pm. The juror for the exhibition, Chris Krupinski, signature member for the American Watercolor Society with Dolphin Fellow status as well signature member for National Watercolor Society will be presenting awards during this reception. This event is open to the public and will include light refreshments. The exhibition features over sixty artworks by talented Michigan water media artists. The paintings include a variety of works that honor the rich tradition of watercolor and celebrates new innovations in the medium.

A Perfect Pairing

Are you a craft beer enthusiast?  Are you a wine enthusiast? Do you love to see unique art by artists in our region?  If so, this is the event for you!  Join Studio 23 on October 11th for an evening of fine art, wine, and craft beer called “A Perfect Pairing.”

During this event you will see NEW artwork from six very talented artists; Brian Goff, Sharon K. Berkan-Dent, Mark Bleshenski, Katrina R. Canfield, Sheri Moore, and Mike Zureich will be talking about the inspiration for their artwork as you travel around the gallery.  All of these artists have their own unique styles of drawing, installation, mixed media, acrylic painting, and pastel. NEW for this event, there will be six craft beer/wine experts who have paired a beer or wine with each work of art.  Hearing how the artwork inspired them to pick the beer or wine will be a unique experience.

A Perfect Pairing is limited to 75 tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $30 per person and include the wine and beer tasting, hors d’oeuvres, artist inspiration talks, and an “After Glow.”  This event begins promptly at 6:30 pm and will conclude at 8:30 pm.
