Studio 23 Plein Air Showcase
January 25–February 24
This exhibit showcases artwork created “en plein air,” outdoors from observation, at Plein Air painting events hosted by Studio 23 throughout 2023. We look forward to bringing some warm weather and sunshine into the gallery during the cold weeks of winter!
Threads of Meaning

The colorful art quilts of Ann Kowaleski are figurative expressions, personal narratives, and depictions of memories and dreams that explore and celebrate the human and the things that connect us in everyday life.

The colorful abstraction and botanical artwork of Chelsea Michal Garter will grace the walls of our Tabor Gallery for this spring exhibit.
Teenworks & Kids’ Kreations
April 21–May 11
Teenworks & Kids’ Kreations celebrates the artwork created by elementary, middle school, and high school students attending art classes throughout Bay County. This is a wonderful opportunity to see their imaginative art displayed in the Rowley Gallery at Studio 23.
Tattoo Artist Invitational Exhibition

This invitational exhibition features artwork created by tattoo artists working and practicing in our region. The artwork displayed will include a variety of artistic styles and highlight the process of design of various artists.

Studio 23 Visiting Artist Program
Tabor Gallery

The mission of the Studio 23 Visiting Artist Program, through selection of an annual visiting artist, is to enhance the experience of Art for our community via exposure to a greater diversity of artists, art media, and artistic styles. An artist will be selected in Spring of 2024.

All-state juried exhibition

This juried exhibition shines a spotlight on the current artwork created by artists from across the state of Michigan. The body of work displayed is an energetic blend of abstraction and realism from our state’s talented and accomplished artists.

Featured Artist for Black & White Affair
November 14, 2024 –January 11, 2025
Laura Cavanagh is a Michigan artist currently living in Metro-Detroit. Laura’s series of pastel drawings are inspired by simple interior spaces, which includes both her own personal living spaces, as well as spaces she’s experienced in her past. She is especially inspired by 1950s/60s films and TV shows.
