Studio 23 Plein Air Showcase
January 20 – February 4, 2023
This exhibit showcases artwork created en plein air, or outdoors from observation, at Plein Air painting events hosted by Studio 23 throughout 2022. We look forward to bringing some warm weather and sunshine into the gallery during the cold weeks of winter!
Teenworks & Kids’ Kreations
February 12 – March 11, 2023
Teenworks & Kids’ Kreations celebrates the artwork created by students attending art classes throughout Bay County. This is a wonderful opportunity to see their imaginative art displayed in the Rowley Gallery at Studio 23.

Delta College Student Art Exhibit

Studio 23 welcomes Delta College’s Arts & Letters Division for an exhibition of student artwork.

Mythoscape
J. P. Aleksander
May 18 – July 8, 2023
Enter the surreal world of Mythoscape, a collection of paintings by JP. Aleksander that combines myths, history and natural world in imaginative and thought provoking ways.
The term “Mythoscape” is meant to suggest a new kind of landscape, one that is shaped not only by physical features, but also by myths, legends, and stories. In this context, the paintings represent different “Mythoscapes”, or otherworldly universes where myths and reality intersect. Each painting will transport you to a dreamlike realm, where modern-day struggles and ancient tales collide.
Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind exhibition that celebrates the power of the imagination and the enduring myths that shape our understanding of the world.

This annual exhibit showcases the artwork created by the talented students and instructors of Studio 23 during the 2022–2023 terms. You are invited to meet the artists and instructors, plus learn more about our education programs during the reception.

Chalk Walk Art Festival 2023
August 12, 2023
This annual festival features chalk art, live music, and a family fun zone on the sidewalks of historic Downtown Bay City near Wenonah Park.
Studio 23 Visiting Artist Exhibit
August 24 – October 21, 2023
The mission of the Studio 23 Visiting Artist Program, through selection of an annual visiting artist, is to enhance the experience of Art for our community via exposure to a greater diversity of artists, art media, and artistic styles. Application for the Studio 23 Visiting Artist Program is open through April 16, 2023.
50 Artists of the Great Lakes Bay Region
September 21 – November 11, 2023
This bi-annual exhibition features the works of 50 artists selected by a jury of experts in visual art and community leaders from the region. The Great Lakes Bay Region includes the counties of Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland and Saginaw.
