Call for Artists: MI Artists All-State Juried Exhibition
This biennial exhibit is accepting entries through NEW DEADLINE: Saturday, August 8, 2020.
Open to all Michigan artists 18 years of age or older. Works in all media and mixed media are eligible. Only original works completed within the past five years will be accepted. NO GICLEES, REPRODUCTIONS OR COPIES OF ORIGINAL ARTWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED. Digital files submitted for jurying must be non-altered representations of the actual works to be considered for exhibition. Artworks previously exhibited in juried exhibits at Studio 23 are not eligible.
Meet our juror:
Timothy Norris’ artwork has appeared in over 100 exhibitions throughout Michigan and the Midwest since 1988. He has won many awards. Tim was Curator of Exhibitions and Collections at the Art Center of Battle Creek, 1992-1996. He is a current instructor at Muskegon Community College in Studio Art and has served as a curator throughout the state.
His interests include Celtic art, Civil War period history, and music. He and his artist wife, Patricia Opel collaborated on a series of large format paintings titled Through a Crack in the Lake, inspired by Great Lakes shipwreck narratives and history.
There will be a $1000 best of show award chosen by the juror, Timothy Norris as well as awards of merit.

Accepted artists will be in the virtual exhibition that will be displayed online at Studio23BayCity.org
Artists also have the option of being in the physical exhibit that will be held inside Studio 23 in Bay City, Michigan. Masks are required during drop-off of artwork as well as social distancing.

Accepted art that the artist feels comfortable to deliver is to be delivered to Studio 23 for MI Artists All-State Exhibition on Tuesday, 9/1/2020, Noon-3:00 pm and Wednesday, 9/2/2020, Noon – 3:00 pm. There will contactless drop-off in our vestibule area. Masks are required. Please email Val Allen at email@example.com for different arrangements that may mutually work out.
Awards will be based on the virtual exhibit images.
Exhibition dates: September 12 – November 14, 2020.
Artists reception: September 17,2020, 5 pm – 7 pm
This reception will observe the recommendations of attendance based on current requirements from state and local guidelines.
