“…and Other Ballads” is a curated solo exhibit featuring Bonnie Lalley, artist/illustrator. Bonnie Lalley is a full time artist/illustrator living on a smallholding, in the American Midwest, with a man, seven chickens and a dog.  She lives in a century old farmhouse restored by her cabinetmaker husband who is also the maker of frames for all of Bonnie’s work. 

Being a dedicated Biophile, the flora and fauna surrounding the Lalley home is a constant source of wonder and inspiration for this Artist.

The artwork features large-scale Mixed media collages and will be displayed in the Rowley Gallery at Studio 23. The body of work is presented in exquisite hardwood frames hand-crafted by her husband and professional cabinet-maker, Timothy Lalley.

There will a reception for Bonnie Lalley on Friday, July 30, 2021, 5–7 pm at Studio 23. The reception is open to the public. 

Bonnie Lalley’s Workshop and Tea

Saturday, August 14, 2021, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Artist and illustrator Bonnie Lalley will be conducting a very special all-day workshop on her unique collage process based on inspiration from nature. Your supply list includes: graphite pencil, Exacto knife and blades, small scissors, small bottle of Elmer’s glue, sketch book, and any and all colors wet and dry! For example, watercolors, gouache, color pencils. Cotton rag paper will be supplied with a materials fee. The goal is to complete a colorful collage artwork suitable for framing. Tea will be served and an hour will be provided for lunch to enjoy downtown Bay City eateries or bring your own. The cost of the workshop is $125 for members of Studio 23 and $170 for non-members. Bonnie Lalley is a full time artist/illustrator living on a smallholding, in the American Midwest, with a man, seven chickens and a dog. She lives in a century old farmhouse restored by her cabinetmaker husband who is also the maker of frames for all of Bonnie’s work.
