Tattoo Artist Exhibit (Title TBD)

May 23 – July 13, 2024

This exhibit will support the goal of our mission statement to make art relevant and accessible to all by increasing the diversity of art styles and mediums presented in our gallery. The exhibit will also help us to expand our viewers’ knowledge of art mediums and challenge their concepts of what defines art in a gallery setting.

Our vision for this exhibit is a collaboration between several artists with varying styles and subject matter. The artwork on display would be a combination of sketches, concept drawings, flash sheets, photography, and other forms of art created by the artists. We are flexible and open to other ideas, forms of art, or ways of displaying. Having a combination of materials ranging from sketchbook pages through images and portraits of completed tattoos will give viewers an understanding of the process and artistry that is involved in your work. We have an opening reception for each exhibit, and we would love to have a reception full of people showing off and sharing their tattoos and celebrating the work that you have done.

Artists interested in participating in this exhibit can contact Curator of Exhibits Amy Gibas at agibas@studio23baycity.org or 989-894-2323 ext. 13.

Access•ABILITY

2025 exhibition at Studio 23/The Arts Center

We are excited to be planning this inclusive exhibit experience for our 2025 exhibition season. This exhibit will support the goal of our mission statement to make art relevant and accessible to all by:

  • Creating artwork for an audience who may be overlooked in the visual and fine arts community due to limited sensory or physical abilities.
  • Highlighting artwork created by individuals with limited sensory or physical abilities.
  • Enlightening our audience to the limitations of creating or enjoying art while living with disabilities.
